Sooo… remember when we said we were going to read some books? Yeah we didn’t do that.
Book Clubs are just… ehhhh. We don’t want to sit around for an hour (usually more) discussing a book we didn’t want to read in the first place. Plus, there is always that one person there who forces the chatter back “on topic.” Ugh. What we do like is an open discussion of what books our friends are reading and what they like/didn’t like about it. We can decide to read or not. Plus, we have been pushing ourselves to read more and cut out some of the bad TV (and/or whole day marathons of HGTV).
Lauren is feeling nostalgic and picking up a favorite from high school, The Cheerleader. She is also planning on diving into Ender’s Game. Sam is finally reading books she has been meaning to read for years, like Me Talk Pretty One Day and Lolita.
The most magical season of the year is almost here! Crisp autumn weather is just the right amount of warm and cool. Foods (and drinks) are spiced, roasted, and usually full of pumpkin. Plus, football.
Lauren and I are both fall babies. It just adds to our greatness (ha). A dip in temperature calls for us to pull out all of those wardrobe essentials that make enjoying the season extra special. Here is everything I’m ogling while dreaming of the cooler, humidity-free days ahead.
Boots: I already own a dark brown pair of rag & bone Astor Moto boots that I scored on eBay for a Benjamin. While I love them and thank the online auction gods for my luck in finding them, I am wanting a black pair of well-constructed leather boots as well.

Coats: I love coats. It’s strange because I despise cold weather. Two weeks of snowy winter-wonderland goodness is enough for me. After that my skin is chapped, dry and I’m shaking a gloved-fist at the sky begging for the return of fall. Coats make the bitter weather more bearable not only for practical reasons but also for pure eye-candy reasons. It’s a good thing I’m not a magazine editor because I would seriously make an issue full of them titled “Coat Porn.”
